Denver Botanic Gardens Chatfield Wedding | Emily & Mark

He was the architect, and she was the teacher.

They both shared a love of the outdoors and their Catholic faith. A mutual friend introduced them two years ago, and they hit it off. When Mark decided to propose to Emily, he did it creatively and thoughtfully, sending her some of their favorite moments captured in photos for 19 consecutive days, culminating in his asking her to marry him.

Today, Good Shepherd Catholic Church in Denver their home parish, and it’s where they married earlier this summer before friends and family. Fr. James Fox, the long-time pastor at the church, celebrated the Mass.

The reception took place later at the Denver Botanic Gardens Chatfield Farms, nestled in front of the foothills of the Rocky Mountains. The property is large, and the guests and couple ate, prayed, toasted and danced at the Green Farm Barn, built in 1918 and part of a working farm owned by a local family. Nearby is a rustic grain silo surrounded by blooming flowers and gardens.
