Jaime and Michael met at their high school in Denver before ending up at the same university in the midwest — she a soccer player, and he enrolled in an ROTC program.
They both share a deep love and commitment to their Catholic faith, and it was clear it was at the center of their love and relationship.
On their wedding day in late December, the weather delivered some unexpected snow — not unexpected given the month, but serious snow wasn’t in the forecast.
Dan went out early and scouted at the location at Fly’n B Park near the wedding reception venue to ensure we could still use it. The freshly fallen snow had turned the overlook, the trees and the trails even more magical.
First, though, we celebrated the nuptial wedding mass at St. Thomas More Catholic Church just outside Denver. Jaime and Michael didn’t want to see each other beforehand, so we worked to keep them separate until Jaime walked down the aisle with her father.
Once Mass finished, we ventured over to the park with the bridal party — who were completely up for trudging through some snow for the best views (even if they didn’t have all the right clothes for cold weather!). Jaime had come prepared with boots, and Michael faithfully ensured she wouldn’t slip when walking up and down the hills. The light and the sunset couldn’t have been more perfect, casting beautiful orange and yellow light as the sun set behind the Rocky Mountains.
We ended with Jaime and Michael in a grove of evergreens before heading to Ashley Ridge by Wedgewood Weddings nearby for the reception, where the couple danced and celebrated with their closest family and friends.
