Marie and Cesar met as part of a Catholic sports league.
They were quickly drawn to each other — Cesar a software developer, and Marie an elementary school teacher.
They became engaged in 2019, long before the coronavirus pandemic was upon us. But even with the resulting limitations, they were able to be married last summer at St. Thomas More Catholic Church in Englewood, witnessed by a handful of family and friends.
Despite the radical changes to their plans—exemplified the masks readily at hand—they committed their lives and love to one another.
The nuptial wedding Mass included special moments between both of them — their love for each other is apparent. Afterward, we journeyed to South Valley Park to photograph some pictures with the the bridal party. The day was quite hot, which meant fortunately there were not too many people outside on the trails.
Afterward, Marie and Cesar were whisked away in a convertible to join a small gathering of family, friends and wedding guests. They had originally planned to have a party with hundreds in attendance, but COVID-19 had prevented that. Still, loved ones lined the street and cheered for them as they arrived to punctuate an extraordinary day.
