We spent a recent Saturday with Rachel and Jeff at Evergreen Lake and Elk Meadow Park in Jefferson County to capture Rachel and Jeff’s engagement session. Rachel is a teacher in Colorado, and Jeff works in finance. They met at a friend’s wedding a few years ago and ended up walking down the aisle together as bridesmaid and groomsman.
Now, they’re getting married themselves.
Anya met Rachel through choir at our local church, Our Lady of Lourdes, and a few months ago, she asked us to photograph their engagement and wedding. Soon, we met her fiancé Jeff, who grew up in Evergreen, just minutes from Evergreen Lake and Elk Meadow Park, where we spent the afternoon and evening for the engagement photo session.
We started the day with some lunch and coffee at Everbean by the Lake. The day was cool, and the sky was clear blue. After some photos in front of the beautiful architecture of Evergreen Lake House, we headed over to Elk Meadow Park — an area that Jeff grew up exploring frequently when he was younger. The day was windy, and the sun went in front of and behind clouds, but we managed to capture their love in a beautiful natural environment.
Both were patient as we asked them to climb up rock formations, trudge through snow and pose in whipping winds. At the end, the sun finally peeked behind the clouds, and we had a chance to capture them in front of a beautiful sunset.
