Earlier this summer, we had the pleasure of photographing the wedding of Anya’s cousin Kate and her now-husband Jim at the Evergreen Lake House in the foothills outside Denver. The wedding was small and intimate — with a handful of family and friends on hand to witness the day under a bright sun with Evergreen Lake and the mountains serving as our backdrop. We walked around the lake afterward for portraits of the bride and groom. Katie showcased her joy throughout the day and Jim was good with quick laughs and jokes (Jim and Dan hit it off from the first meeting for their shared interest in — nerd alert! — data and computer systems).
After the first dance and dances with mother and father, the groomsmen threw down a coordinated dance for the guests. Toasts from family and friends (including the bride’s sister-in-law Ellery whose wedding to Kevin just a few years back we also loved photographing) were heartfelt and poignant, and we even had a chance — at the request of the bride — to put down our cameras, dance and enjoy the company of friends and family.
Congratulations, Kate and Jim, on your marriage, and thanks for asking us to be a part of it!
