You know it’s going to be a good engagement shoot when your couple doesn’t even bat an eye to some rain, lightning, and climbing over 300 stairs to reach the peak of a mountain.
Johnny and Erica were absolute gems to work with. The crummy weather in no way fouled their mood when we got together a few weekends ago at Mother Cabrini Shrine for their engagement shoot. Johnny proposed to Erica here, and we couldn’t have been more thrilled when they chose the same location for their photo shoot. The area offered a wide variety of settings in a fairly compact area, making it easy to hit a bunch of locations in a pretty short amount of time. Definitely a quality you look for when the rain is spitting at you.
Then, as we were finishing up, Dan said, “There’s a red barn just down the road that we wanted to use, then we should be good to go.”
Erica: “Oh! Good thing you brought your cowboy hat, Johnny.” (Johnny is originally from Texas.)
Me: “Wait, wait, hold up….there’s a cowboy hat?! Oh, there’s no escaping now, you’ve got to wear it!”
J & E: We are so excited for your wedding in a few months! Thank you for being a rockin’ and resilient couple to work with. Much love — anya
You’re so lovely, Erica.
This is one of my favorites. Not only can Johnny rock a cowboy hat and boots, he also is a quality swing dancer. When I suggested he dance with Erica a little bit, I had no idea he would have such mad skills. Love it.
It doesn’t get much more Colorado (or Texas!) than that!
